Slitters
Our stainless steel slitting capabilities insure that the material you receive from us will be slit to your exacting tolerances. Most material is slit on one of three slitters: a 72” driven head slitter, a 48” pull through slitter or a 12” pull through slitter. This variety of slitters allows us to choose the right machine for each application after careful consideration of the alloy, finish, thickness, width and cost involved.
Width Capabilities for Stainless Steel Coil Slitting
We provide stainless steel coil slit to any width ranging from 0.188” through 72”. Not many companies offer stainless steel slitting in widths less than 1.00”, but we regularly produce it. Conversely, many customers require wide nonstandard widths, which we also regularly provide. The standard width tolerance for narrow slit coil is +/-0.005” and for wide coil is -0”/+.062”. Tighter tolerances are generally available. With either wide or narrow cuts, stainless steel coil slitting means our customers receive coils ready for their presses and can produce product with minimal scrap.
Shape is Critical
Since the shape of the material you receive is critical to how smoothly it will run through your processes, our stainless steel slitting always involves minimum burr, minimum camber and maximum flatness. We produce stainless steel coil within your shape specifications, which are often tighter than standard ASTM tolerances.
Experienced Operators
As in any manufacturing process, the end result is only as good as the operators running the machines. We work with people with decades of experience. They know the machines. Furthermore, they are dedicated to making sure that every pound that leaves the facility is right. As a result, top equipment and experienced, dedicated and conscientious personnel means a superior product for you.
Packaging
We can supply slit coil with or without paper interleaving, PVC coating or cardboard cores. We can meet your skid or packaging requirements. All packaging specifications must insure that the material is protected in transit and easily handled by you in your plant. Packaging fits into our environmentally conscious philosophy. Unless you specify otherwise, we do what we can to recycle and not over package our products. We try to reduce our carbon footprint as we all want to live in a world with cleaner air and water.
